Crews repave Aguajitos street in Cabo San Lucas; work to last about a week
Pothole repairs run from the Transpeninsular Highway to the Lomas del Sol neighborhood and the ramp toward the road to Todos Santos.
The Los Cabos city government is patching and resurfacing Aguajitos street in Cabo San Lucas, on the stretch from the Transpeninsular Highway to the Lomas del Sol neighborhood and at the ramp toward the road to Todos Santos, the Cabo San Lucas Public Works office reported. The work will take about a week.
Cabo San Lucas Public Works coordinator Carlos Alberto Ceseña Villalobos said crews began near the entrance to Soriana. The estimated timeline depends on scheduled progress and weather conditions.
Why it matters
Aguajitos links the Transpeninsular Highway with neighborhoods on the west side of Cabo San Lucas and with the exit toward Todos Santos on Federal Highway 19. The work may mean lane reductions and slow traffic at peak hours.
The city said the project is part of its ongoing road maintenance program and responds to resident requests to improve traffic flow.
Tips for drivers
- Leave early if you use Aguajitos to commute, especially in the morning and late afternoon.
- Follow signage and instructions from work crews.
- Slow down on freshly paved sections.
- If you are heading to Todos Santos or coming from Lomas del Sol, consider alternate routes while work continues.
Weather and timeline
The one-week estimate could shift with the weather. Los Cabos Civil Protection expects light to moderate rain in the coming days from Hurricane Simon's circulation, which could delay asphalt work.
To report potholes on other streets, residents can contact the Public Works office in their delegación or the city's official channels.
