San Lucas Fest, Pink Swim and aquathlon: Cabo San Lucas's October events calendar and security plan
Los Cabos is coordinating five events between Oct. 17 and 30 with the Navy, the Port Captain's office, Public Security and Civil Protection.
Cabo San Lucas will host five large events between October 17 and 30, and the Los Cabos municipal government is coordinating security and logistics for each with municipal, state and federal agencies. First up is San Lucas Fest, on Saturday and Sunday, October 17–18, at Playa El Tule.
The calendar
- San Lucas Fest 2026: October 17–18, Playa El Tule.
- Pink Swim (Nado Rosa): Sunday, October 18, from Playa Empacadora to Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor).
- Universidad de Los Cabos sports race: October 18, along the Cabo San Lucas Marina boardwalk.
- Aquathlon, second edition: October 25, with the swim leg at Playa El Médano.
- Los Alegres de la Sierra concert: October 30, Municipal Auditorium.
Who is involved
Planning meetings include the Naval Sector, the Port Captain's office, Public Security, Civil Protection, Tax Inspection and the Municipal Sports Institute (INDEM). Municipal Government Director Antonio Avilés Pandor said the meetings allow officials to assess conditions for each event in advance.
The administration of Mayor Christian Agúndez Gómez said it has kept these celebrations incident-free during its two years in office.
What to know
Three of the events fall on the October 17–18 weekend, which also overlaps with the Cabo San Lucas Traditional Festival (October 16–20) and its Sunday horseback parade at 3:00 p.m. If you live or work near the Marina, El Médano or downtown, expect heavier traffic.
Water events depend on sea conditions. State Civil Protection forecast waves of up to 2 meters on Friday and Saturday from Tropical Storm Simon, and most of the state's ports except La Paz remained closed due to a cold front. If you registered for the Pink Swim or the aquathlon, check with organizers for any last-minute changes.
Tips
- Arrive early at beach venues and respect areas set aside for competitors.
- Follow instructions from Civil Protection and Public Security staff on site.
- In an emergency, call 911.
