Presentation of the 2026 Cabo San Lucas Traditional Festival program

The 2026 Cabo San Lucas Traditional Festival begins Friday, October 16, at 7:00 p.m. and runs through Tuesday, October 20, the Los Cabos municipal government announced. Opening night features the coronation of festival queen Ana Daniela Ruiz Osuna and performances by Ingrid Contreras and Perdidos de Sinaloa.

Where

The main venue is the Teatro del Pueblo, at its traditional site behind the Matamoros shopping plaza. Events are also planned at the León Cota Collins public plaza and the "Prof. Leonardo Gastélum Villalobos" Municipal Auditorium.

The Teatro del Pueblo will host performances every night from Friday to Tuesday. The Municipal Sports Institute (INDEM) is organizing sports and recreational activities for families.

Horseback parade on Sunday

The traditional cabalgata, or horseback parade, is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 p.m. It is one of the busiest moments of the festival, so plan extra time for getting around downtown Cabo San Lucas that afternoon.

Security

According to Social Development Director Tadeo Ramírez García, the festival is being coordinated by the Organizing Committee, municipal departments and state authorities, with a joint security operation aimed at an incident-free celebration.

A busy weekend

The festival overlaps with other events on the city's calendar: San Lucas Fest on October 17–18 at Playa El Tule, plus the Pink Swim and a sports race along the Marina boardwalk on Saturday, October 18. Expect heavier traffic downtown.

Practical tips

  • Arrive early and consider public transportation or carpooling; parking near the Matamoros plaza tends to fill up on festival nights.
  • If you bring children, agree on a meeting point in case you get separated in the crowd.
  • The city did not announce road closures or admission prices; check official municipal channels before heading out.
  • Keep an eye on Civil Protection updates: the state is monitoring Tropical Storm Simon, which could bring isolated rain to southern BCS this weekend.
