Los Cabos repairs rain-damaged streets in four neighborhoods
Public Works levels and lays material on the worst-hit roads; the city is taking reports of new street damage.
The Los Cabos Public Works Directorate repaired streets and roads damaged by recent rains in the Buenos Aires, Puerto Nuevo, Santa Rosa and Monte Real neighborhoods. Work focused on the stretches most in need of maintenance after the water passed through.
Crews carried out leveling, grading and material placement to even out the surface and restore traffic at the most deteriorated points. This kind of work is common after rains, when runoff strips the road surface and leaves potholes and sinkholes.
According to the city, the repairs aim first at roads left impassable or that put pedestrians and drivers at risk. The municipality did not specify how much machinery was used.
For drivers, it is wise to move carefully through these neighborhoods while the newly laid material settles, especially after fresh rain, when the surface can give way again. Slowing down and keeping distance prevents tire and suspension damage.
Residents who spot a new pothole, a sinkhole or a blocked road can report it to the city at (624) 146 7600 so the agency can schedule the repair. Providing an exact location and a landmark helps crews reach the spot directly.
Los Cabos, like the rest of the state, is in the June-to-November rain and cyclone season, when dirt roads and low-lying neighborhoods are the most exposed to this kind of damage.
