Final days in La Paz for 35% discount on property-tax penalties
The benefit covers fines and surcharges and ends August 31; more than 20 windows and online payment are available.
La Paz, BCS.— The La Paz city government is offering a 35% discount on property-tax fines and surcharges through August 31, in what is the final month of this year's regularization program. The aim is for taxpayers with debts to get current before the incentive disappears.
The discount applies to property-tax add-ons —the fines and surcharges built up from late payment— not to the base tax itself. Those with several overdue years save the most by paying during this window.
Payment can be made at more than 20 collection windows across the city, including City Hall, the Public Services offices, OOMSAPAS La Paz, Municipal Traffic, the State Government Finance Center, Plaza Galerías, Plaza del Sur and municipal markets.
To avoid lines, the procedure is also available online through the App La Paz, the official municipal government portal and the Visor Urbano platform, where residents can check their balance and pay by card.
Municipal treasurer Jassiel Enríquez Varela said this is the final month of the discount scheme and urged taxpayers to settle their accounts before the deadline. Property-tax revenue funds services such as street lighting, garbage collection and road maintenance.
Before going in person, it helps to have the cadastral key or the last payment receipt on hand to speed up locating the account at the window or online. Payments made from September 1 onward will no longer carry the incentive.

The measure takes effect September 3 in rain-hit areas and will remain until drainage clearing and debris removal are completed.
Only some streets in nine zones remain pending and can be reported through the App La Paz.
The new set of rules aims to bring order to municipal services and returns the Municipal Slaughterhouse and Market to Public Services, after a transition that began in November.
The municipal program repaired 226 potholes and provided some 500 services to families, including medical visits, legal advice and pet sterilization.
