Distribution of school vouchers for the 2026-2027 cycle in Baja California Sur

The Baja California Sur education ministry (SEP) is distributing 256,000 school vouchers for the 2026-2027 school year, with a state investment of more than 73 million pesos for supplies and uniforms in basic education. Delivery to schools is set for the first week of September.

The vouchers are personalized documents for students in public schools, Multiple Attention Centers, the PRONIM program and CONAFE. They can be redeemed only at 121 stores run by 87 authorized suppliers across the state, so they do not apply at just any business.

Amounts vary by grade level. Preschool receives 300 pesos for supplies. Primary school gets 200 pesos for supplies and 325 pesos for uniforms. Secondary school gets 200 pesos for supplies and 450 pesos for uniforms. The voucher is applied as a direct discount at the time of purchase.

"The vouchers are personalized documents to buy school supplies and uniforms at authorized stores," said Elizabeth Mora Muñoz, director of administration and finance at SEP-BCS.

Families should keep in mind that the voucher is issued by name: it arrives through the student's school, is handed to the parent or guardian, and must be used within the deadline at stores on the official list. Keep the document in good condition, check that the student's name is correct, and ask the school office for the list of participating stores in your municipality to avoid unnecessary trips.

The support arrives at the height of back-to-school season, when spending on supplies and uniforms is one of the biggest outlays of the year for households with school-age children.
