Free psychological counseling session by the Municipal Health Institute in a Los Cabos neighborhood

The Municipal Health Institute of Los Cabos launched a free psychological counseling service in the Altamira neighborhood of Cabo San Lucas and the Vista Hermosa neighborhood of San José del Cabo. The support is aimed at children, teenagers, adults and older adults in both communities.

The goal is to bring emotional support to families in their own neighborhoods, without having to travel or pay for a consultation. Care is provided confidentially by institute staff.

"Caring for psychological health is essential to overall well-being, as it influences how people think, feel and act," said the institute, which is headed by Juan Carlos Costich Pérez and coordinated by Adán Monroy Justo.

The service seeks to address common situations such as stress, anxiety, grief, family conflicts and childhood behavioral issues, and to refer those who need specialized services. It is a particularly useful resource for households without social security coverage or access to a private psychologist.

Residents who want to know days, hours and service points can contact the Municipal Health Institute through the city's phone line at (624) 146-7600, or visit the municipal offices at Blvd. Mijares No. 1413, corner of Zaragoza and Manuel Doblado, Centro neighborhood, San José del Cabo.

As a practical tip, it is best to request an appointment in advance and bring an ID; if the support is for a minor, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
