La Paz 2027 property tax: up to 35% off for paying Oct. 9–31

The city council approved a sliding discount scheme running from October 9, 2026 to March 31, 2027, plus relief on back taxes and penalties.

La Paz city government bulletin on 2027 property tax discounts

Property owners in the municipality of La Paz who prepay their 2027 property tax (predial) between October 9 and 31, 2026 will receive a 30% discount plus an extra 5%. The measure was approved by the XVIII City Council at its 26th ordinary session and runs, with decreasing percentages, through March 31, 2027.

Discount schedule

According to the city government, the discount shrinks month by month:

  • October 9–31: 30% + 5% extra
  • November: 30%
  • December: 25%
  • January: 20%
  • February: 15%
  • March: 10%

As a practical example, on a 2,000-peso bill the October 35% means saving 700 pesos; waiting until March cuts the savings to 200 pesos.

Relief for back taxes

Taxpayers who owe for 2026 or earlier years get a 20% discount on that balance from October 9 to November 30, and 15% in December.

Fines and surcharges will be cut by 50% through the end of the year, the municipality said.

Conditions and exclusions

Discounts apply only to single, lump-sum payments. People on a payment plan can also qualify if they pay off the full balance within the deadlines.

The city said the scheme does not apply to seniors, retirees, pensioners or people with disabilities, who already receive their own special discounts. There will be no refunds or credits for payments made before the program starts.

Where to pay

Payments can be made at municipal cashier windows, through the App La Paz, on visorurbano.lapaz.gob.mx and lapaz.gob.mx, and at Multiservicios kiosks.

What to do: check your cadastral account online first to see the amount and any back taxes. If you owe from previous years, paying before November 30 lets you combine the 20% off the balance with the 50% cut in surcharges. Seniors, retirees, pensioners and people with disabilities should ask at the cashier about the special discount that applies to them.
