La Paz Events Traffic Light: 11 shows have permits, two November and December concerts have not applied
The city's Commerce Department updated the list; Pancho Barraza, Yuridia and Alejandro Sanz are green, while Julieta Venegas and four others remain under review.
Eleven shows scheduled in La Paz now have municipal permits and safety approvals, five remain under review and two have not applied, according to the Events Traffic Light update the city government published on Oct. 15. The tool, run by the Commerce Department (Dirección de Comercio), lets the public check a concert's status before buying tickets.
Among the changes, Pancho Barraza's Nov. 21 concert at Estadio Arturo C. Nahl moved to green after completing its paperwork.
What each color means
According to the Commerce Department, headed by Marina Druk Hernández, green means events that "have met the municipal permits and required safety reviews."
Yellow covers shows whose promoters have started the paperwork but whose files are still under review. Red marks performances that have not submitted an application or started any official process.
The updated list
Green: Pancho Barraza, Folklor sin Fronteras, Carlos Ballarta, Yuridia, Lucha Libre AAA, Vico Díaz, Alejandro Sanz, Daniel Boaventura, Di Blasio, The Jungle Book + Alice in Wonderland and Lenny Jay.
Yellow: Los Auténticos Decadentes and Caligaris (Oct. 25), Julieta Venegas (Oct. 28), Ángeles Negros (Nov. 10), Arcano (Nov. 11) and Cuarteto de Nos (Nov. 18).
Red: Los Nuevos Rebeldes and other artists (Nov. 28, Arena La Paz) and Manuel Medrano (Dec. 5, Arena La Paz).
Before you buy a ticket
A yellow or red event is not canceled, but it does not yet have municipal authorization. If you have bought or plan to buy tickets, keep your receipt and the promoter's or ticket seller's contact information.
The practical advice is to check the traffic light again a few days before the date, especially for the nearest shows: Los Auténticos Decadentes and Caligaris play Saturday, Oct. 25, and are still under review.
If a show is canceled and the promoter does not respond about a refund, Mexico's consumer protection agency, Profeco, accepts complaints for services not provided.
