In August, La Paz keeps a 35% discount on property-tax penalties and surcharges

The break dropped from 40% to 35% once July ended and applies to taxpayers settling overdue balances.

La Paz municipal treasury window for property-tax payments

La Paz taxpayers can settle their overdue property-tax balances with a 35% discount on surcharges and penalties during August 2026, the municipal treasury reported. The break was lowered from the 40% that applied through July 31 and aims to help more owners get current before the incentive shrinks further.

The discount applies to the surcharges and penalties generated by overdue balances, not to the base amount of the tax. It is aimed at those carrying balances from 2026 or earlier years who want to keep the debt from growing.

Payment can be made online through the "App La Paz" application, the www.lapaz.gob.mx portal and the visorurbano.lapaz.gob.mx site, as well as at the treasury's payment windows and points. The digital option lets taxpayers check the balance and pay it without going in person.

As a useful reference, the authority's advice is to take advantage of August, since regularization incentives tend to step down as the year advances. Having the cadastral key or a prior receipt on hand speeds up the process both online and at the window.

Property tax is one of the municipality's main own-source revenues and funds services such as garbage collection, street lighting and road maintenance, so getting current has a direct effect on how those services run in the city.
