La Paz completed waste collection in 154 neighborhoods; 9 zones pending

Only some streets in nine zones remain pending and can be reported through the App La Paz.

The La Paz city government completed waste collection in 154 neighborhoods of the city as of August 29, 2026, with only some streets in nine zones still pending. According to the Directorate General of Sustainability and Waste Management, service was covered in most scheduled sectors.

"Quedaron pendientes únicamente algunas calles correspondientes a 9 zonas de la ciudad" ("Only some streets in 9 zones of the city remained pending"), said Daniel Cabral, head of the area.

Neighborhoods and sectors served include Ampliación Centenario, Solidaridad, Mezquitito, Bella California, Balandra, Calafia, Camino Real, Paseos del Sol, 8 de Octubre, Indeco, Santa María, Valle Dorado, Flores Magón, Benito Juárez, Miramar and Centro, among more than thirty zones covered by the routes.

Collection becomes especially sensitive during the rainy season: garbage left on the street ends up washed into arroyos and storm drains, where it blocks the flow of water and worsens flooding during storms. Putting out waste only on the day and time the truck passes helps keep it from scattering with the wind and current.

How to report a missed pickup: the official channel is the App La Paz, under the "La basura no pasó" ("The garbage wasn't collected") section. When filing, it helps to note the exact street and neighborhood so crews can schedule the pending pass. The agency said it will continue the routes until it clears the lagging streets in the nine zones.
