Los Cabos hands out 25 water tanks in Cabo San Lucas; here is how to apply

The benefit requires a prior request at the citizen services office; the process is free and aims to improve home water storage.

Water storage tanks handed to families in Cabo San Lucas by the city's citizen services office

The Los Cabos Municipal Citizen Services Directorate handed out 25 water storage tanks to improve household water storage in Cabo San Lucas. Of the total, 15 went to families in that city and 10 to members of a social organization.

The benefit goes to those who filed a prior request with the office, a requirement that orders delivery based on availability. The measure matters during the rain and rationing season, when a tank lets households store water for days of lower pressure.

"Various forms of support have been arranged to meet the main needs," said Jorge Acevedo Torres, acting head of Citizen Services. The area's coordinator in Cabo San Lucas, Dulce Martinez Cazares, said the office "will continue giving timely follow-up to requests."

To apply, residents should visit the Cabo San Lucas delegation office or the Citizen Services Directorate at Blvd. Mijares 1413, between Zaragoza and Manuel Doblado, Centro neighborhood, in San Jose del Cabo. The city hall phone is (624) 146 7600.

When filing the request it helps to bring official ID and proof of address; the process is free and delivery depends on available stock. Keeping the tracking number or the name of the staffer who took the request makes follow-up easier.

A tank in good condition and properly covered also helps prevent mosquito breeding, an added concern during the municipality's rainy season.
