Children at a DIF child care center in Los Cabos

The Los Cabos DIF has openings at its five Child Care Centers (CAI) for families looking for care and early stimulation for their children, with service Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the municipal agency reported.

The centers are located in three Cabo San Lucas neighborhoods and two in San José del Cabo. In Cabo San Lucas, the CAI operate in Las Palmas (maternal levels 1, 2 and 3), Los Cangrejos (levels 2 and 3) and Centro (level 1); in San José del Cabo, in Buenos Aires (level 3) and Vista Hermosa (level 1).

Each center serves a different set of maternal groups, so availability varies by the child's age and the neighborhood. The spaces are designed to support learning, social interaction and development in a safe environment during the earliest stages of growth.

For information and enrollment, families can call the nearest center directly: Las Palmas, (624) 124-5445; Los Cangrejos, (624) 172-5725; Centro, (624) 152-0211; Buenos Aires, (624) 105-2727; and Vista Hermosa, (624) 120-3708.

In a municipality where many mothers and fathers work in tourism and services with long shifts, a public child care option makes working life easier for families. It is best to call before visiting to confirm the maternal group available and each center's enrollment requirements, since spaces are limited.
