Los Cabos grants legal certainty to nearly 5,000 families in López Obrador neighborhood of Cabo San Lucas

Regularization provides documents that legally prove ownership and eases access to social programs.

The XV Los Cabos city government said it granted legal certainty to nearly 5,000 families in the López Obrador neighborhood of Cabo San Lucas by handing over documentation that legally proves ownership of their lots. The action is part of the municipality's land tenure regularization process.

According to the city, having this document lets families prove ownership of their land and, with it, opens the door to services and support that usually require legal proof.

"Advancing regularization not only grants legal certainty, it also eases access to programs and social actions," said José Manuel Larumbe Pineda, first councilor acting as municipal president. Municipal trustee Nélida Alfaro Rosas and secretary general Alberto Rentería Santana also took part.

Regularization has practical effects for residents: a lot with proper documents makes it easier to connect to services such as water and electricity, apply for housing loans, and inherit or sell the property without legal disputes.

Families who want to know whether their neighborhood is included in the process, or how to start their paperwork, can contact the Los Cabos Municipal Presidency at (624) 146-7600 or at presidencia@loscabos.gob.mx, where they can get guidance on requirements and the office handling follow-up.

The city did not detail a new handover schedule, so interested residents are advised to confirm directly with municipal offices before going, to avoid trips without an appointment.
