Los Cabos joins the National Pact to simplify municipal procedures
The municipality adopts the federal framework aimed at standardizing and speeding up public administration.
The Los Cabos city government has joined the National Pact for the simplification of procedures, an initiative that seeks to standardize processes across the country and move toward more agile and accessible public administration for residents. The move followed the municipality's participation in the framework's working sessions.
The Office of Government Innovation, led by Milagros Michelle Vázquez Uribe, represented the municipality in the work, where officials agreed to adopt tools to modernize administrative procedures and improve service to residents.
According to the city government, the goal is to reduce bureaucratic burdens and make more efficient the processes that residents of San José del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas and the municipality's communities carry out daily. For now, the specific procedures to be digitized and an implementation timeline were not detailed.
The National Pact is part of the procedure simplification and digitization strategy that promotes standardizing requirements across the three levels of government, so that the same procedure has equivalent rules anywhere in the country.
While the changes are implemented, municipal procedures — such as payments, licenses and certificates — continue to be handled at the Treasury offices and the corresponding departments. The municipality will announce through its official channels which procedures will be added to the digital scheme.
