La Paz opens a payment office in Costa Azul for property tax and fines closer to home

La Paz's municipal treasury has opened a new payment window in the Costa Azul area, where residents can now pay property tax, traffic fines and other municipal services without traveling to the city center. The window is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The office is located at the Costa Azul Municipal Police station, on Luis Donaldo Colosio boulevard at the corner of Damiana street, in the Jardines del Sur neighborhood. For questions or information, the city set up the phone line 612 123 7900, extension 2490.
At this module residents can pay property tax, traffic fines, municipal rights and services, licenses and permits, as well as recharge and buy cards for the Tiburón Urbano system, the city's parking and mobility scheme. Concentrating these procedures at a single point aims, according to the treasury, to "reduce travel and waiting times" and offer a closer alternative for the south of the urban area.
The goal is to ease congestion at the downtown windows, especially on high-demand dates such as the end of the month or the property-tax discount periods, when lines grow longer. With a site in Costa Azul, those who live or work in that area avoid the trip and the wait.
A practical guide for taxpayers: for property tax it helps to bring the account number or the previous year's receipt; for a traffic fine, the ticket or the vehicle's details. Confirming accepted payment methods by phone before going helps settle the procedure in a single visit. Service closes at 3:00 p.m., so arriving with time to spare is recommended.
The opening adds to the collection points the treasury keeps across the municipality to bring services closer to neighborhoods and spare residents from crossing the city to make a payment.
