New office of the Public Property and Commerce Registry in La Paz

The Public Property and Commerce Registry has a new office in La Paz, located at the corner of Colosio and Carabineros streets, and began providing registry services on Monday, August 10. The office was inaugurated on Friday, August 7 by the State Government.

The building sits next to the Women's Justice Center and the central offices of the La Paz city government, an area that concentrates government agencies and makes related paperwork easier to handle. The move aims to improve service conditions for users.

In-person service runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while the digital platform operates from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. exclusively for notarial staff. That gives notaries and law offices a wider window to file requests than the counter hours allow.

The Public Registry is where properties, sales, mortgages and liens are recorded, and where documents such as the lien-free certificate are issued, all essential for buying or selling real estate with legal certainty. A fixed address and set schedule help those carrying out these procedures.

Authorities said the agency's phone numbers are being migrated and will be announced soon, so for now the surest route is to visit in person during counter hours. It is recommended to bring official ID and the full documentation for the procedure to speed up service.

Anyone with an ongoing procedure can confirm its status directly at the new office before scheduling any payment or notary appointment. The relocation does not interrupt registry services, which continue normally at the new address.
