La Paz to award 300 sports scholarships in 2026 worth 5.2 million pesos to athletes and coaches

The support is split between 250 athletes and 50 coaches who competed in the CONADE National Games, with amounts of 15,000 and 30,000 pesos respectively.

The La Paz city government will award 300 sports scholarships and grants during 2026, with an investment of 5.2 million pesos for 250 athletes and 50 coaches in the municipality, the local authority reported.

Each athlete will receive 15,000 pesos and each coach 30,000 pesos. The support targets young athletes who competed in various stages of the CONADE National Games and the coaches who develop local teams. This year 395 applications were received —333 from athletes and 62 from coaches— and their files were reviewed to define the recipients, whose list has already been published.

The administration said it sought broad distribution across disciplines. "We made sure at least one athlete from each discipline received a scholarship, so the support reaches representatives of the different sports," said acting mayor Amor Fenech Montaño.

The program is not new: over five years the municipality has allocated around 15 million pesos to this incentive scheme, a track record that gives continuity to support for local sports. For many Sudcalifornian families, the scholarship helps cover training costs, travel and competitions outside the state.

Since this year's list of recipients has already been published, applicants should check the results and watch for instructions from the La Paz city government on the delivery process. For future calls, it is best to follow the official channels of the municipality and its sports office, where requirements, deadlines and registration forms are announced.
