La Paz repaired 2,047 street lights in July and August and handled 640 resident reports

The city fixed public lighting in the city and rural areas; the reports came through the App La Paz application, the official channel to request a street-light repair.

The municipality of La Paz repaired 2,047 public street lights across the city and rural areas during July and August 2026, and handled 640 resident reports received through the App La Paz application, the Directorate General of Municipal Public Services reported.

"The Directorate General of Municipal Public Services repaired 2,047 street lights, in both the city and rural areas, in order to keep public spaces and roads safe," the agency said. Working street lighting is linked to roads that are easier to use at night and to a greater sense of safety in neighborhoods and along rural roads.

The key point for residents is that repairs are not automatic: they depend on someone reporting a light that is off or flickering. The official channel is the App La Paz application, through which the city received the 640 reports handled during the two-month period.

To file a report it helps to have the exact location on hand —street and cross streets, neighborhood or delegation— and, if possible, the pole number, usually printed on a small plate. The more precise the reference, the faster a crew can respond, especially in rural areas where distances are greater.

Street-light maintenance is one of the most frequent demands in the state capital, along with potholes and garbage collection. Reporting through the app also creates a tracking number, which lets residents follow up if a light is not fixed within a reasonable time.
