Los Cabos Comptroller installs complaint and suggestion boxes in city offices
The boxes are at City Hall and other public service counters, and can also be used to recognize good service from city staff.
The Los Cabos Municipal Comptroller's Office has set up citizen feedback boxes at City Hall and at several municipal offices that serve the public, so residents can report directly on the quality of service they receive, the city government said. The boxes accept complaints, suggestions, commendations, grievances and improvement proposals.
Municipal Comptroller Gastón Martínez Molina said the tool "permitirá a la ciudadanía reportar de manera directa la calidad en el servicio" (will let residents report directly on service quality) and that "todas las opiniones serán tomadas en cuenta" (all opinions will be taken into account).
What happens to your submission
According to the Comptroller's Office, the boxes are opened and reviewed periodically, and each submission is forwarded to the relevant department for follow-up. The city did not say how many boxes were installed or exactly how often they will be opened.
How to make it count
If you file a complaint, write down the date, time, office and, if you know it, the name or department of the staff member who served you. The more specific it is, the easier it is to follow up.
Include contact information if you want a reply. And if the service was good, it is worth noting that too: the box accepts commendations, not just complaints.
Other channels
Those who cannot go in person can email presidencia@loscabos.gob.mx or call (624) 146 7600, the city government's general service lines.
The boxes cover municipal government services and paperwork, such as those handled at City Hall in San José del Cabo. Water utility matters and state or federal agencies have their own service desks.
